Norris Mitchell has been with Aspire Electric for six years, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him on our team. We recruited him straight from the United States Army, where he received his training as an electrician. Norris enlisted in the service as a graduate of Eastern Alamance High, following in the footsteps of his uncles. He actually chose to be an electrician when he picked his Military Occupation Specialty, knowing that it would serve him well when he became a civilian again.
Actually, though, “Sergeant Mitchell” isn’t a civilian! He – along with two more of our team – still serves or country in the National Guard. He’s been deployed more than once, serving in Iraqi Kurdistan and also in Kuwait. One of his jobs was a complete rewire of a large latrine complex.
It’s obvious to all who meet him that Norris loves his work. His favorite part of the job is troubleshooting; he likes to find the problem and fix it. He says his favorite fixes are when the customer is relieved that it is a simple and inexpensive repair. He recalls one time he went to repair an outlet that wasn’t working, and simply found that it had been switched off!
In his spare time, Norris enjoys watching traveling, especially to the mountains. He loves watching cooking shows and sports. His favorite sport to watch is drag racing.
