“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Your mom knew what she was talking about, which is why she scheduled a yearly check up with your pediatrician. At Aspire we offer the same sort of check ups for your electrical system, called 52 Point Electrical Safety Inspections. Like your mom, we know that if you find and fix small issues, you’re preventing dangerous and expensive problems later on.
Wire Check. One of the realities of home maintenance is that electrical systems wear out over time. As you turn appliances and lights on and off, heat builds up and causes break down of all the components, including the wires themselves. When you trip a breaker or overuse a circuit, the breakdown happens even faster. Our inspector will find the resulting trouble spots, and tell you what needs to be done to fix them.
Technology Check. Older houses are especially prone to outdated and dangerous electrical systems. Fuse boxes, ungrounded receptacles, and insufficiently sized circuits are other common issues. We’ll explain what is needed – and what isn’t – to bring your system up to date.
Code Check. The latest building codes are designed to make your house as safe as possible. We check to make sure you’re up to code, with the correct number and placement of smoke and CO1 detectors and electrical outlets. We also check for other code issues, like ARC and GFI fault protection, dedicated circuits on appliances, and proper service capacity.
Life Check. Sometimes, a life change calls for changes in your electrical systems. If you’re selling your home, you need to make sure that it’s up to code. If a new baby or an elderly parent will be joining your household, there are safety checks that you need to make. If you get a new HVAC or convert a room to a home office, there may be electrical adjustments that need to be made for safety and efficiency. During our inspection, we ask you questions that will help us find areas in your home that need to change with your life situation.
Scheduling a Check Up. Home inspections are easy to set up. Give us a call, and we’ll set a time. (We’ll be there in your appointment window, or we’ll give you $25!) An inspection takes two to three hours, and is surprisingly affordable, especially if you’re a member of our Safety and Savings Plan.
